My Candy Love; My Dating Sim Obsessions

Well, howdy!!

It's been a while. Actually, pretty much six years.

Wowe wow wow wow.

Anywho, I'd like to talk about my odd obsession with weird online dating sim apps.

Note: The only ones I play are the ones with girl lead characters where there are avatar options, because I'm still as obsessed with avatars as I was when I was really into Gaiaonline.

- I'd like to start with My Candy Love. It's interesting, cute, fun, and there are lots of clothes to pick from for your avatar.

A girl moved to a town and is a new student at a high-school (college), where she meets her old friend Ken, who introduces her to many interesting characters. Personally, I enjoy Ken. He's nice, though dorky (as if that matters), which is the reason there's always an option to be a huuuuuuge bitch to him. Fuck that.
That's the main downside I have with this one. The fact that the main character is kind of a bitch. I try to pick the answers that seem the kindest, but sometimes ALL of the options are rude, or just mean. I mean, I get it, they want the story to lead to a certain place, but can't they do that without making me kinda hate the main character? There is an entire chapter where the whole school hates her, and I kinda can't blame them. There is no option to not get involved and make an ass of yourself.
Luckily, it's not something that happens often enough for me to stop playing. The story is way more interesting than the main character is annoying.
But the other characters are all pretty likeable, and I enjoy playing daily. (10 AP a day, but 2AP a move.)

-The second app that I've been pretty into is called Anticlove. The art is cute, there are many mini games to get more money and AP, and it's VERY interesting, in my opinion. It's about a girl who is going to a new, giant school to learn about architecture, but on a class trip, she finds an amulet that forces her to travel to the past in her sleep/dreams. The characters are mostly interesting, though James is annoyingly persistent, and the main character's best friend is a HUGE BITCH.
No, seriously. There's an option in the start of the story to be mean to her, and I wish I picked it because NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I tell her I'm NOT interested in James, she's still a huge bitch about it. Like, what kind of friend is that? She can actually just fuck off, I'm sick of dealing with her undeserved death glares. Plus, I like Jared more. James is a prat who thinks he's the king of the school.
Anyway, you get 6AP a day, but it goes up if you log in every day, to 12AP a day. It's 1AP to move, and there's an annoying screen that you have to click out of every single sentence once you reach 2AP.

-One I just downloaded is Romantic Diary. It reminds me of a mix of Cocoppaplay, which is another avatar game, and a dating sim, because this game is more focused on dressing your avatar than anything else, but it's also about getting close to characters. The art is very cute, for the most part, and there's so much to do throughout the day! I open this app several times a day and just goof around.
The story is about this girl being in a new world and having no idea what it's all about. But she's very enthusiastic and kind, which is a huge plus. I've had no negative reactions with this one so far, but I've also only been playing it for a week, so I guess we'll see!

In conclusion, I'm terrible at dating sims and I always end up picking the option where I get +0 affection.
I hope I'm not as bad at flirting in real life as I am in these games.

Anywhosies, thanks for reading!

- Knurvous
